🔒 Privacy Policy

Your Privacy, Plain and Simple

We built Know Yourself Better so that self-discovery never requires giving up your data. No accounts. No paywalls. Your answers and results live only in your browser.

Effective date: August 4, 2026

👋 TL;DR — your test answers never leave your device. We use only anonymous traffic analytics (details below).

🔎 The short version

  • No accounts. You never sign up, log in, or register.
  • No personal data collected. We have no forms asking for your name, email, or anything personal.
  • Your answers & results stay on your device in your browser's local storage. They are never sent to any server and we cannot see them.
  • Anonymous analytics only. We use Google Analytics (GA4) and Vercel Analytics for basic, aggregated traffic stats — page views, device type, approximate region. Not your answers.

1. Information You Provide to Us

We do not collect any personal information that you type into the Site. There are no registration systems, logins, or forms that ask for your name, email address, or other personal data.

Your test answers and results are stored only in your browser's local storage (localStorage) on your own device. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party. We cannot see them, and neither can anyone else — your results are as private as any file you keep on your own computer.

You are in full control. You can delete individual results from your history, or remove everything at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website. On each test, the Copy Results button lets you copy your latest result to your clipboard — this also happens entirely on your device.

2. Information We Collect Automatically (Analytics)

To understand how the Site is used and improve it, we use Google Analytics (GA4) and Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated statistics such as:

This analytics data is anonymous and aggregated. It does not include your test answers, your scores, or any personally identifiable information. GA4 does not store full IP addresses. The data is used solely to understand which tests are popular and what to improve.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site does not use cookies to store your answers — those live in localStorage. However, Google Analytics uses its own cookies for session management and to produce its statistics. Depending on the Google Analytics property configuration, GA4's default Enhanced Measurement may also automatically record interactions such as outbound link clicks (for example, tapping a link to our blog). This is anonymous behavior data — never your answers.

If you prefer not to be included in web analytics, you can:

4. Third-Party Services

The Site uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Service Purpose Data
Google Analytics (GA4) Anonymous traffic statistics Page views, device, region (never your answers)
Vercel Hosting Standard server logs (IP address, request metadata)
Google Fonts Typography Standard font-request logs
WordPress.com Separate blog (knowyourselfbetterapp.wordpress.com) Governed by WordPress.com's own privacy policy
Cryptocurrency donations Optional tips in 9 cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, BNB, TRON, Cardano, Dogecoin, Stellar) via the ₿ Tip page Donations happen on the blockchain; the Site collects no payment or personal data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information — because we do not collect it in the first place.

5. Data Control and Deletion

Your test answers and results are stored only in your browser's localStorage. You control them entirely: you can delete individual results, clear them all, or use Copy Results to save a result to your clipboard. Because your data never leaves your device, there is nothing stored on any server for us to delete on your behalf.

Analytics data is retained by Google Analytics and Vercel according to each provider's own retention policies, in anonymous, aggregate form.

6. Children's Privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the Site collects no personal information and stores nothing on a server, children's data is not collected either. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will address the matter.

7. International Data Transfers and Your Rights

Because anonymous analytics data may be processed by Google on servers located outside your country (for example, in the United States), the small amount of anonymized traffic data we use may cross borders as part of those services' normal operation, governed by each provider's own privacy policy.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) — including the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data and to object to processing. Because we do not collect or store your personal data on any server, there is nothing we hold that we could disclose or delete. Your test data lives only on your own device, and you already control it directly through your browser.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the Site. Because your test data never leaves your device, there is no central database that could be breached. For your own protection, we recommend avoiding shared or public devices when taking tests if your results are sensitive, and clearing your browser's site data afterward if you do use one.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Effective date" at the top. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
